About the "FRENCH SUITE" Series

In this painting series, French Suite, of historical architectural structures in southwest France, I continue exploring the evocative quality of light. Though it might appear that light is the same everywhere, since we all share the identical light source, here it is uniquely different, luminous and stirring. These buildings share with those in other places the lingering presence of the lives lived in them, lives that have passed from the scene, their places taken by others to continue the human drama. French Suite was exhibited at the Hoorn-Ashby Gallery, New York City, in March and April, 2008, and were shown at the Weinstein JCC in Richmond, VA during October and November 2008 and shown at Art Square, Leesburg, VA in September 2010.

All works are acrylic on paper.
